Forget firing up the oven in this sweltering heat. When you are craving something sweet, cool and decadent why bake when you can layer? While I love a low-fat berry tiramisu this time of year, that pumpkin puree hidden in the back of the freezer is about to become the star of the show! This no-bake pumpkin spice tiramisu is the perfect summer dessert.
Instead of waiting for fall, imagine serving a pumpkin tiramisu right now. This recipe is a dream for summer entertaining. It's the ideal way to marry the timeless elegance of Italian tradition with that homegrown pumpkin from last summer and keep your kitchen cool. Why wait until Thanksgiving for these creamy mascarpone layers infused with vibrant pumpkin and perfectly balanced with coffee-soaked ladyfingers?
Now, you know me – I'm all about classic flavors, but I also love a delicious twist. A traditional tiramisu is a dessert made with strong espresso or strong coffee spiked with marsala wine. The coffee-soaked ladyfingers are layered with a mascarpone cream mixture enriched with egg yolks and then dusted with either cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.
We are breaking from tradition to make this recipe a family-friendly dessert. It’s a completely egg-free tiramisu and alcohol-free tiramisu! So everyone at your gathering can indulge without a worry. Plus, we are replacing the cocoa powder with a joyful crumb topping.
Let's discuss tiramisu ingredients
- Lady fingers: the crispy kind.
- Instant espresso powder is mixed with water but you can brew your own as well
- Pumpkin puree. Fresh is best for the "pop" of color, but canned is fine.
- Pumpkin pie syrup. If you can't find it add 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice mixed with 1 teaspoon sugar to hot espresso; stir to dissolve.
- Mascarpone cheese. Do not use cream cheese.
Pro Tip
Drain pumpkin on paper towels to remove excess moisture and concentrate the flavor. Do this before measuring the ingredient. See the how to video in the recipe card.

Finally
Absolutely. In fact, it is my preference for better flavor and more vibrant color.
Remove excess moisture from the pumpkin using paper towels as explained in the video in the recipe card. Do this before measuring the pumpkin for the recipe.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. I do not recommend freezing.
It won't be the same but you can try a pumpkin spiced milk or cider.
Traditional ladyfingers are not gluten-free. However, you can find gluten-free ladyfingers or use slices of gluten-free sponge cake for a similar effect!
The delightful blend of pumpkin puree and warming spices transforms a classic into a unique no bake dessert that everyone will be asking for.
Pumpkin Spice Tiramisu
Equipment
- 1 9x5-inch loaf pan
Ingredients
- 1 cup prepared espresso cool
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie syrup
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 (16 oz.) container mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup drained pumpkin puree
- 1 (7 oz.) package ladyfingers
Instructions
- Mix espresso and syrup in a shallow dish; set aside.
- Mix sugar and pumpkin pie spice together. Reserve ½ teaspoon of the sugar mixture and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk remaining spiced sugar with mascarpone and pumpkin puree until well blended and creamy.
- Reserve 1 lady finger. Quickly dip remaining lady fingers, one at a time, into the espresso mixture, allowing excess espresso to drip back into the dish. Place a single layer of dipped lady fingers on the bottom of a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- Spread ⅓rd of the pumpkin filling over the top in an even layer.
- Top with another layer of dipped lady fingers and filling. Repeat one more time smoothing the top.
- Using a rolling pin, crush reserved lady finger and ½ teaspoon of spiced sugar in a plastic bag. Sprinkle crumbs over the top of the tiramisu. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or as long as overnight.
- Garnish as desired.

Notes
- Can be prepared 2 days in advance.
- Alternatively, you can crush the lady finger and sugar in a small food processor.
- Drain pumpkin puree on layers of paper towels before measuring.
- Chopped candied pecans and pomegranate seeds make a great garnish adding a contrast in texture.
By the way, when you start dreaming of cozy sweaters, crisp autumn air and apple recipes make sure to add Pumpkin Spice Tiramisu to your fall baking (or rather, no-baking!) list. It’s the ultimate combination of convenience and flavor and perfect for a Thanksgiving dessert. Don't you just love a recipe that can be made in advance and takes up no oven space? Let me know.
